Abstract This paper describes the methodology we used to create a first sign language version of the BabelDr project, a collaboration between the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting in Geneva and the Geneva University Hospitals. The project aims at developing a trustworthy medical speech translation system for emergency settings. We especially focus on our methodology, the translation issues and possible solutions adopted by our translators.
