This paper presents a glossary of Christian church-related terms, together with a methodological approach used to create such a glossary and a list of useful sources used for that purpose. Emphasis was put on the importance of recognizing differences between major Christian denominations (illustrated by Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant faiths) and between different conceptual themes. The purpose of the paper is, on one hand, to provide the interpreter with a simple and practical glossary which he or she can complete at will and, on the other hand, to draw his/her attention to the existence of multiple rich and varied sources on this subject.
