Abstract

This research examines the linguistic strategies processes adopted in translating web stories published on the United Nations’ High Commission for Refugees’ website from English into Arabic. By applying the Skopos theory to the translation of web content, the study suggests that the communicative aim of the stories takes precedence, and therefore translators should use any linguistic means necessary to recreate the effect intended by the original text.
