This work analyses interpreters in contexts of armed conflict as portrayed in Special Forces Interpreter: an Afghan on Operations with the Coalition, by Eddie Idrees. Existing literature on interpreting in conflict scenarios and on autobiographical accounts on interpretation were used as a theoretical basis. This is a case study, where the analysis was based on the following categories: role of the interpreter, risks and consequences of interpreting, positionality, quality of interpreters and working conditions, view of the interpreter by users.
