This master project on the palms (Arecaceae) of Togo and Benin represents the continuation of the floristic, taxonomic, ecologic and ethnobotanic study that the CJB leads on the native palms of Western Africa. We undertook a study dealing with floristics, structural botany, ethnobotany and phytogeography of the native palms from Togo and Benin. Our research combined the study of herbarium specimens (BENIN, BR, BRLU, G and TOGO) and the study of samples collected in the frame of our fieldwork.
