Abstract

Films, like books, are designed with specific ages in mind and therefore their translations for blind and visually impaired individuals should be too. This dissertation examines the needs of different target audiences with regards to audio description, demonstrates that the current AD standards do not suit younger age groups and makes recommendations on how to improve audio description for children.
