The study discusses the coordination mechanisms available to address situations of multiple proceedings before investment treaty tribunals. It includes an analysis of the jurisdictional mechanisms applicable in the context of investment treaty disputes and looks at coordination methods based on agreement, hierarchy, first-in-time rules (such as lis pendens and res judicata) as well as overarching principles such as comity and the prohibition of an abuse of process.
