In this article, we reflect on the epistemological role of images in education and research, as well as their impact on creative processes in students’ university education. Drawing on a pedagogical proposal based on artistic and visual processes, we analyse the place of images within the education system and their influence on creative learning. Our analysis is grounded in collaborative research carried out in university courses in sociology and teacher training, in which images and the body function both as pedagogical tools and as objects of inquiry for questioning through which their role in learning and research is examined. Beginning with an initial consideration of the role of creativity within different university contexts, we examine its impact on teaching and research, focusing on criteria such as problem solving, research methodologies, and pedagogical strategies. Initial findings show that students are increasingly aware of the contributions of images and the body to their education.
