Gender-affirming hormone therapy can be used to alleviate gender dysphoria in transgender and non-binary individuals. However, the long-term effects of these treatments on reproductive health remain uncertain. Before initiating hormone therapy, it is essential that patients be fully informed about the potential implications for their reproductive capacity. Fertility preservation options, such as oocyte cryopreservation, should be offered to individuals assigned female at birth.

The SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) presented here focuses specifically on oocyte cryopreservation.
