Psychodynamic group psychotherapy is characterized by its emphasis on interpersonal dynamics, requiring a specific framework and timing. This article describes its implementation within the Psychiatry Department of Geneva University Hospitals. Although the institution provides a supportive environment, several adaptations are essential to maintain therapeutic mechanisms such as elaborating losses, sustaining ego continuity and life drive, and fostering belonging. Ensuring the long-term viability of this indispensable tool in institutional settings remains a significant challenge.
