In geography, landscape is often approached from a primarily visual perspective. However, some researchers advocate for a multisensory approach, which would allow us to move beyond the primacy given to sight and better understand the diversity of perceptions. Furthermore, since the 1990s and 2000s, the geography of disability, which focuses on social and political dimensions, has encouraged greater inclusion of people with disabilities in research and theoretical thinking. In this sense, continuing to view landscape solely through the visual lens contributes to the exclusion of people who do not have access to this form of perception.

This situation raises a question: can blind or visually impaired people contribute to enriching our understanding of the landscape? Contemporary postmodern approaches to landscape seem to suggest that a reflection open to other sensory perceptions is possible, even in the absence of sight.

This thesis takes this perspective and proposes to analyze interviews conducted with blind and visually impaired people. By drawing on their perceptions through guided tours, the objective is twofold: to include these voices in reflections on landscape and to draw on their experiences to revisit our own conceptions of landscape. This approach thus seeks to renew the way we look at landscape by valuing sensibilities that are often marginalized.
