This chapter gives an overview of research topics and types of research in translation revision. First, translation revision is defined and contrasted with related activities such as post-editing (PE). Next, the research methods used to empirically investigate revision are presented. Subsequently, the impact of revision principles, procedures, and intensity on revision quality, as well as aspects of revision competence, are discussed. The chapter concludes with desiderata for further research and an outlook.
