Abstract

In general practice, physicians often have to answer questions about their patients' potential vitamin deficiencies. This article provides a brief review of the most common and relevant vitamin deficiencies in family medicine, based on the recommendations of the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism published in 2022. It focuses on vitamins D, B1, B9, and B12, in order to provide updates on screening, treatment, and follow-up recommendations.
