This thesis analyzes the translation of financial language in the Italian subtitles of the first season of the television series Devils. The aim is to understand how complex technical concepts are translated, balancing terminological accuracy with the constraints of audiovisual media, such as short reading times and limited space. The research adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach which is based on a corpus of ten scenes that are characterized by a significant amount of specialized terminology. For each scene, the original subtitles and the Italian subtitles were compared, analyzing the most common translation strategies. The results show that adaptation and modulation are the most common, with frequent use of loanwords and condensation, to maintain a balance between accuracy and clarity. The study highlights how subtitles can work as a bridge between technical language and the wider public, giving easier access to complex content.
