Abstract

This paper is in first place a study of the laws that govern non-profit organizations in the U.S.A., England and Wales, and France with a view to drafting their governing documents. This is used to inform on the legal aspects of translating governing documents from French to English. Then a textual analysis is carried out that explores the issues of translating the key parts of the French Government’s model for governing documents.
