Abstract

Numerous studies have shown the positive effects of improving metacognitive skills and knowledge on student's learning abilities. The study presented in this research paper involves 170 11-year-old-students who participated in a cognitive workshop program implemented in a 6th grade of a French school. Through 6 sessions of illusions, exercises, and explanations, teachers taught their students about the cognitive processes involved in learning in order to develop and promote their metacognitive abilities.
