This thesis aims to provide an analysis of the lexical choices of English translators of Spanish-language bank shareholder letters and to determine whether their translations effectively achieve their intended communicative function by, among other factors, following the stylistic conventions of similar texts in English-speaking countries. Specific lexical aspects analyzed in this corpus-based study are the use of verbs, calques, jargon, and the first person. Two syntactic aspects, nominalization and sentence length, are also considered.
