Terminology is the tool for knowledge transfer and therefore a knowledge management tool. A terminological database is a knowledge management system. Thus, terminology is an important asset for an institution or a firm since the knowledge of the institution or firm can only be interesting and productive if it is shared among all actors. The goal of this paper is to present: • the role of terminology within Probst's knowledge model • the value of terminology as a factor of production • the added value gained through terminological activities
