This thesis looked at the possibility of effectively and accurately translating culturally-oriented humour in such a way as to be accessible and comprehensible for a reader from outside the source-language community. I attempted to do this by translating a chapter from Georges Pop's ‘les Français ne sont pas Suisses'.
