This product-oriented research adopts a mixed-methods approach to explore translation tendencies within a representative sample of ten episodes. The analysis focuses on three categories of humorous elements: community and institutions elements, community-sense-of-humour elements and linguistic elements. Through coding and analysis, the research identifies prevailing trends in the translation of verbal humor. The results reveal a predominant tendency to preserve the original humorous elements and their content, with a secondary tendency of maintaining elements through adaptation or substitution of the content. However, the Italian version contains fewer humorous elements when compared to the original. This study not only highlights the complexities in humor translation but also provides data that demonstrates the existence of translation trends for humorous elements.</p> Humor translation Verbal humor Corpus-based study Translation of humorous elements Audiovisual translation Translation trends Dewey 418.02 Maîtrise universitaire en Traduction : mention Traduction et Communication Spécialisée Multilingue 111 Département de traduction 91 false 5cc6c744-4e50-4830-9a30-37c44023923c Master thesis Restricted Memoire_CesaLaura.pdf 12294795 application/pdf 4736ea1f68c0a3c118770cfa8ad6fdbe65a8189da39353a0c052137bd3d11db3 restrictedAccess Faculté de traduction et d'interprétation / Département de traduction
