But some people seem to find it difficult to “come away from the original” in simultaneous with text. The aim of the present thesis was to determine if it may be more difficult to move away from the sentence structure of the original speech when interpreting simultaneously using a text. For that purpose, an experiment was carried out comparing the renditions of eight participants in two speeches, one interpreted in simultaneous and the other in simultaneous with text.
