The aim of this study is to evaluate SBB and CGN’s homepages in English and French and observe if public transport companies in Geneva have improved their online accessibility since 2015. The evaluation included two manual testing, two automated analyses, and one user experience with five blind participants. Results showed that SBB and CGN’s homepages in English and French improved their accessibility level since 2015, and that there was no fundamental difference between the two language versions. Moreover, SBB’s homepages were overall more accessible than CGN’s. However, blind people still encountered barriers when navigating the analyzed homepages, especially in CGN’s booking forms. This study attempted to shed light on current accessibility barriers that should be considered when developing a website. We also aimed to raise awareness among our readers about the importance of web accessibility.
