This dissertation looks at Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 12.6 which looks to “encourage companies to adopt sustainable practices and sustainability reporting,” by studying from three different levels of analysis a key organization contributing to the achievement of this target: stock exchanges. Through the analysis of stock exchange activities this dissertation addresses a distinctive blind spot in the literature on how societal-level institutions are altered.
