Specific heat enhancements from effects of density-of-states and charge transfers

Abstract

The effects of temperature on variations of the total energy in compounds, with strongly varying density-of-states (DOS) near EF, are investigated. Self-consistent (SC) T-dependent LMTO calculations are used to determine the specific heat at low temperature. Some cases with large enhancement are found to be correlated with charge transfers.
