Abstract

The connotation of the word ‘security' which often translates into a restrictive use of the term “global health security” tends to mask these core assumptions and perpetuates a state-centric approach focused on the viewpoint of the global North. We believe that the use of the concept of global health solidarity, security, and sustainability will provide a clearer outlook and more efficient basis to tackle “global health security” at the level of science as well as at the level of global public health action.
