New records of Callicera aurata (Rossi, 1790) (Diptera: Syrphidae) in Switzerland. − Two females and a male of Callicera aurata (Rossi, 1790), a species rarely observed in Switzerland, were collected in the summer of 2016 in the canton of Geneva. Other records of this species and of C. aenea were investigated. These records represent the first mentions of C. aurata in the cantons of Wallis, Bern and Geneva. Callicera aurata is a species typically associated with cavities in old or senescent trees and its discovery in an old high-stem orchard is discussed.
