Abstract

It is well established that physical exercise has a positive impact on brain functions, especially enhancing hippocampal neurogenesis. Long term memory depends on the stabilization of new memories after the encoding, and the consolidation process requires some biomarkers as dopamine and BDNF. Recent studies show that a single exercise session increases the secretion of endocannabinoid, a molecule that affects dopaminergic transmission and maybe memory processes. It is still unknown the role of a single bout of physical exercise intensity in mediating the effect on memory.
