Abstract

This thesis uncovers the genetic accidents that led to the acquisition of Formyl Peptide Receptor gene expression in the vomeronasal system of a rodent lineage that represents about 23% of the mammalian species. We also examined whether the cluster organization of vomeronasal genes is involved in the regulation of their expression with the presence of putative cis-regulatory elements.
