Prospective memory, the ability to remember to carry out planned actions in the future, is highly relevant to children's everyday functioning. The present study is part of a larger body of research that will include 250 children to seek empirical evidence for a directional link between executive functions (EF) and prospective memory (PM). The main focus of the current Master's thesis was to examine the effects of set shifting training on PM in a pre-test, training, post-test design. 80 children aged between 6 and 10 were tested on EF and PM tasks. The training group (N = 45) had eight sessions of set shifting training. Their results were compared to a control group (N = 35). While the training group showed a more robust increase in EF scores at post-test than the control group, the effect of training on PM performance was not significant.
