Abstract

The structure of the title compound, trialuminium diyttrium disilicide, can be derived from the Au2Mn5 structure. The coordination polyhedron of Y has composition [SisA17Ys], those of the two A1 sites have compositions [Si2A15Y5] and [Si2A16Y4], and that of Si has composition [SiAI3Ys]
