Abstract Bisnaphthalenechromium or bis(1-methylnaphthalene)chromium, prepared from the ligands and chromium atoms, react under mild conditions with CO or ButNC to form [CrL6] and with PF3, P(OMe)3, or PMe3 to form [Cr(naphthalene)L3] complexes; Mo, V, and Ti atoms also form exceptionally reactive complexes with naphthalene.
