A first list of the Phaeomyiidae and Sciomyzidae (Diptera) of Haute-Savoie is presented, together with locality data for each of the species. Among the species recorded are three (Ectinocera borealis Zett, Pherbellia dentata Merz & Rozkosny and Pherbellia steyskali Rozkosny & Zuska) that are recorded for the first time from France. The number of sciomyzid and phaeomyiid species now known from Haute-Savoie is 50, which is more than half of the French sciomyzid fauna.
