Early-onset familial dilatation of the ascending aorta

Steinmann, Beat
Published in Cardiology. 1999, vol. 92, no. 1, p. 68-70
Abstract A mother and her two children with idiopathic ascending aortic dilatation are reported. This provides further evidence that genetic factors are involved in the etiology of aortic aneurysms and calls for screening first-degree family members, including children, of young adult patients diagnosed with this condition.
