Une plate-forme carbonatée d'âge rhétien au centre-est de Sulawesi (région de Kolonodale, Célèbes, Indonésie)

Publication date1994
Abstract

The oldest rocks of East Sulawesi in the Kolonodale area are carbonates. The uppermost deposits are from a coral-reef carbonate platform which we dated as Rhaetian on the basis of benthic foraminifera and also on the presence of Uppermost Sevatian-Rhaetian conodonts in the underlying sedimentary unit. Such Upper Triassic reefal rocks are known from some of the microcontinents around the North Banda Sea, suggesting the break-up of an Upper Triassic continental block during a late opening.
