Abstract

Repetitive action potentials induced in the Iiverwort Conocephalum conicum (L.). - Action potentials (APs) were detected in C. conicum with intracellular and extracellular electrodes. We could occasionally observe repetitive action potentials (RAPs) induced by light, burning or pricking stimulation's. Sequences from two to seven action potentials were observed. A treatment with 1M KCl, combined with prior pricking, allowed a reproducible induction of RAPs in this organism.
