This document reports on the status and plans of the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS. First, progress on detector upgrades and overviews of the 2009 and 2010 data taking periods are presented. Second, the advance in the NA61 software, the 2009 data calibration and the data analysis is reported. Finally, preliminary plans for the data taking in 2011, 2013 and 2014 are discussed in view of the scheduled stop of accelerators in 2012.
