Hepatocellular adenoma and polycystic ovary syndrome

Published in Liver international. 2003, vol. 23, no. 1, p. 35-7
Abstract Various identified risk factors predispose to hepatocellular adenomas. We present the case of a young woman with liver adenoma in a context of polycystic ovary syndrome, associated with high levels of androgens and following a high dose hormonal therapy. In view of this complication, we recommend a close screening of patients with such hormonal imbalance, especially those who are treated with high doses of hormones, with repeated liver tests and ultrasonographies.
