Abstract

A detailed BPR investigation is reported about a perturbed O molecule ion introduced into SrCl2 single crystals. The O is associated with an alkali cation located on a next nearest neighbour lattice site. The local distortions produced by this alkali ion influence the orientation of the O molecule ion.
