An O2- molecule ion in CaF2: Structure and dynamical features

Abstract This experimental study reports EPR and ENDOR results of an O<sup> - </sup><sub>2</sub> molecule ion in natural yellow fluorites. The O<sup> - </sup><sub>2</sub> is associated with a sodium neighbor and a calcium neighbor. This cluster performs a rapid switching movement between energetically equivalent positions. The resulting dynamical features in the EPR spectrum are investigated with the aid of the stochastic Liouville equation.
