Abstract

There are numerous unrecognized or underestimated problems after ICU regarding physical and psychological recovery, as well as the family, social, employment and housing aspects. At the present state of knowledge, two main axes seem to prevail that would allow improving life after ICU: attempts to increase the physical strength and to increase the neuropsychological recovery. Further studies are needed to extend our knowledge about such outcomes and plan future strategies for improvement.
