Seizure management in the intensive care unit is complex due to diverse etiologies and seizure mimics. This article provides an overview of the diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients with a clinical suspicion of epileptic seizures and status epilepticus. Key aspects include the importance of electroencephalography (EEG), laboratory tests, and imaging in diagnostics as well as patient-centered therapeutic strategies for seizure and status epilepticus treatment.
