Abstract

The double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled PALM007 trial did not report any significant differences between placebo and tecovirimat regarding the time-to-lesion resolution or the virological clearance for the treatment of clade I Mpox virus infection in the Democratic Republic of Congo.¹ We discuss how these results compare with other clinical trials and what lessons can be drawn for future therapeutics strategies.
