Abstract

In today's global context, the climate emergency is a subject that concerns us all. Rising temperatures, rising sea levels and the disappearance of biodiversity are just some of the consequences we are already facing, and will be increasingly confronted with in the years to come. These effects are devastating and are increasingly destroying the various environments around us.

The aim of this project is to understand the conservation challenges facing these environments, and then to find appropriate development solutions to preserve them and make them resilient in the face of climate change. The canton of Geneva was chosen as the focus of the study because of the wide variety of habitats it contains in a small area. The environments chosen, which are agricultural, industrial and urban, were chosen because they represent the majority of environments found on the Swiss plateau that have been shaped by man. The stakes are high, because the very viability of these areas is at stake. The work is therefore based firstly on a study of the consequences of climate change and its effects, and then proposes an in-depth analysis of the three environments, with intentions and principles for concrete projects applied to each territory.
