Abstract

Anterior knee pain, which is common among both athletes and non-athletes, can have various underlying causes. This article proposes an integrative diagnostic model that identifies painful structures and associated functional and structural factors. Pain is classified based on its origin, which enables targeted treatment, whether conservative, medical, or surgical. The therapeutic approach must consider both the function and specific characteristics of the affected tissues to promote a patient-centered treatment plan. This analysis emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive clinical assessment for effective management of anterior knee pain.
