Abstract

The influence of a soil treatment with dazomet on the carrot storage rot was studied in Wallis during 2 consecutive years. Five carrot varieties were examined during the first year and all showed the same picture: higher diseased carrots proportion on the treated than on the untreated plot. For the second year, only 2 varieties were tested: the best (Nandor) and the worst (Castino). For Nandor, no real differences were found between treated and untreated soil, but for the worst, Castino, the picture was about the same as the year before.

The negative influence of dazomet on storage rot of carrot was more pronounced on susceptible variety like Castino.
