Abstract

Knowledge of the fixing power of soils allows a better estimation of their fertility and a sound application of fertilizers. In the case of phosphorus this parameter is best obtained from two chemical extracts with the same solid-liquid ratio (H₂O 1:5 and AcONH₄-EDTA 1:5) allows the estimation of the fixing power in good correlation with the values derived by isotopic exchange, for the soils of Geneva.
