Detailed investigation of the fatty acid content of hemp seeds was performed. The presence of palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linoleic and arachidic acids was confirmed by means of GC-MS analysis. Traces of myristic, behenic and lignoceric acids were also detected. The qualitative profile was found to be identical in all the 14 samples examined. No correlation was found between this profile and the geographic origin of the seeds.
