Abstract

Detailed study of the cannabinoids and stilbenes produced in the leaves of living plants was performed by GC/MS analysis. The results show a composition profile simpler than that obtained previously by the analysis of dried material. Cannabichromene, Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol (and the corresponding acids), canniprene and cannabispiranol were found in all of the analyzed plants. Cannabidiol as well as its acid was totaly absent in certain stocks. Cannabinol seems to be an ultimate metabolite of resin-producing plants. A methoxylated derivative of canniprene was detected in some phenotypes.
