Prosthetic hip replacement is a successful intervention described as the operation of the 21st century.The incidence of hip prostheses has increased dramatically over the last decade, mainly among patientsunder 65 years of age, which represent more than 50% of patients in some countries. In the vast majorityof cases, it allows not only to recover a painless and functional hip, but also to resume a professional andsport activity. This article raises the question of the rate and time to return to work and sports after hipreplacement, and discusses predictive factors.
