Abstract

A considerable number of children are on the move around the world. The comprehensive legislative framework in place sets out important rights for all refugees –including minors- and other procedural safeguards. Yet, practical barriers do not fully guarantee the respect of the refugee children’s rights. Furthermore, the exposure to significant threats during their journey –such as exposure to violence and detention- increases children’s vulnerabilities.

Taking into consideration the humanitarian emergency Greece was facing, this research aims to understand how humanitarian actors can effectively protect children, enhancing their resilience and improving their overall well-being.
